Fun with Technology

We are so excited to have lots of different devices in our building for student use to enhance learning in the classroom!  We have Chromebooks, HP 360 Laptops, and iPads.  This week we have had so much fun learning how to use the Chromebooks.  In math class we played Kahoot.  It is a great game to practice skills!  My homeroom class was introduced to Canvas this week.  Be on the lookout parents for more information about Canvas!  Check out these hard workers!

"A Look Through My Teacher's Purse"

We are working on determining important details when we read.  Today we did a fun activity called:
"Determining Importance-A Look Through Your Teacher's Purse."  The kids had so much fun seeing all the different things in my purse (some very important stuff and some not so important stuff.).  It was fun to see their reasoning.

So Much to Share!

We have been so busy in room 2!  I am a little behind in sharing some awesome pics of us having fun and hard at work.  Here are a few pics from our spirit day in September.    A few good leaders were chosen to help duct tape Mrs. Klinginsmith and Ms. Inskeep to the wall.  It was so much fun for the kids (maybe not so much for our school leaders:)

What a Week!

We made it through week 2!  We are still practicing lots of routines and procedures but we will get there.  Today we had our first "Fun Friday" and it was a hit!  They had lots of choices:  playdough, legos, computer, Makerspace activities,  and painting.  They know know how important it is to earn those Rock Star Rewards.  Look at how much fun they had.  It was a great way to end our week together!

Off to a Great Start!

Wow!  We have almost made it through the first week of school!  I have loved getting to know each of my new students.  This week has been filled with lots of rules, routines, and procedures in 1st grade.  If we can get these things set in place, it will be smooth sailing the rest of the year...at least I hope:)
